Prometheus Biotech

Prometheus Biotech was founded with the simple research question. How can we improve gut health while keeping the rest of bacteria intact? This led us into the field of microbiology where we began to research our question. With a combination of multiple fields such as computer science, microscopy, and cell cultivation, we aim to address a variety of research questions regarding the field of human health.

Current Research

Our research focuses on using specific chemical techniques to disable actin function and bacterial flagellar motors. We are also studying the effect of probiotic supernatant concentrations on Escherichia coli O157:H7, designing experiments to analyze microbial responses. We are also in the development of Scanalytic, a software platform that uses computer vision and machine learning to track and visualize the motion of cellular components, providing researchers with a tool to analyze microbiological data. We are aiming to do all of our current research in D.C. with the help of experts!
